Dr Catherine Porter
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Catherine Porter is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Since qualification in 2015, she has worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, mainly working in specialist teams which support young people with learning disabilities, neurodiverse and mental health needs.She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and a First-Class Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Reading. She has completed further training in therapeutic approaches such as Positive Behaviour Support, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Video-Interaction Guidance. Catherine has worked with New Ways Safeguarding since 2022. She regularly works therapeutically with young people with a range of complex issues, including childhood trauma, sexual trauma and problematic sexual behaviour. Through her role at New Ways Safeguarding, Catherine provides specialist support to Compass Community and their therapeutic work with young people.
